It is with profound sadness that we announce that our founder and the patriarch of the Hungry Volcano family, Sam Shivji, has passed away.

Sam had an incredible flair for cooking and making food delicious. He started making hot sauce in the 90s. He had so much fun creating recipes and watching people sweat (especially his son in law!). Although, he'll be a tough act to follow, we will work very hard to make him proud and carry on his legacy.

The Shivji family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who expressed sympathy and for your prayers and well wishes while Sam was in the hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
