A few weeks back we got a hold of some Dragon Breath chili peppers. This unique pepper is one of the hottest in the world. The Dragon's Breath plant was cultivated by breeder Mike Smith of Wales and it was named Dragon's Breath after the Welsh dragon.
We decided to concoct a little brew with the pepper and some cherries (which happened to be in season when we were cooking). We made just shy of 500 bottles and we launched it at the Calgary Tattoo and Arts Festival in October and it was hit!
Eye of the Dragon Limited Edition hot sauce is now available on the site and at our store at the Crossroads Market in Calgary.
Here's the thing though. We didn't mark down the recipe, so when it's gone, it's gone. We'll definitely play with Dragon's Breath peppers again (we're trained professionals, with serious personal protective equipment so don't play with peppers with a heat level 2.48 million Scoville units at home!).
