To our dear Hungry Volcano family,

This is not an easy post to write, but here we are. After an incredible journey, countless flavours explored, and a community that has meant the world to us, Hungry Volcano is closing its doors.

We want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you—our spicy food lovers, our adventurous eaters, and those who supported us through every fiery bite. Your passion and enthusiasm made this journey unforgettable.

While we may be saying farewell for now, the memories, recipes, and shared love for bold flavors will live on. Who knows? Maybe one day, Hungry Volcano will rise again in a new form. Until then, we're clearing out all our remaining stock along with bottles, antique crates, shelving and decor. Visit our warehouse at #126 3770 Westwinds Drive NE in Calgary until May 30 from 9-3pm.

Guess who's at Calgary's very own Lilac Festival on Saturday! You guessed it Hungry Volcano will have some of our favourite sauces ready for you to sample. Stop by our booth from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. We'll be having two specials that day, so come check it out.

It's February and you know what that means? Hudson's Hot AF Wing Challenge is back at their Edmonton, Calgary, Lethbridge, or Saskatoon locations to find out!

You eat 10 wings throughout 5 rounds with 5 hot sauces and if you can make it to the end of the challenge, you’ll win FREE wings for a year AND a limited-edition Hot AF hat. 

This year they're using a few of Hungry Volcano's most popular sauces to bring the heat.

Take the challenge at Hudsons Canada’s Pub on February 7, 14, 21, or 28, 2024 from 7-10 pm.  

A few weeks back we got a hold of some Dragon Breath chili peppers. This unique pepper is one of the hottest in the world. The Dragon's Breath plant was cultivated by breeder Mike Smith of Wales and it was named Dragon's Breath after the Welsh dragon.

We decided to concoct a little brew with the pepper and some cherries (which happened to be in season when we were cooking). We made just shy of 500 bottles and we launched it at the Calgary Tattoo and Arts Festival in October and it was hit!

Eye of the Dragon Limited Edition hot sauce is now available on the site and at our store at the Crossroads Market in Calgary.

Here's the thing though. We didn't mark down the recipe, so when it's gone, it's gone. We'll definitely play with Dragon's Breath peppers again (we're trained professionals, with serious personal protective equipment so don't play with peppers with a heat level 2.48 million Scoville units at home!).
